Wood / Radisich on podium at Goodwood
James Wood and Paul Radisich took second place on aggregate in the St. Mary's Trophy on Sunday. Radisich had won his race in Jim Woodley's, Delta-run, Galaxie 500 but Wood could only manage second despite starting on pole.
Rain before the start left the track damp, suiting the lighter cars more than the 1,700kg Galaxie plus was nursing a marginal clutch and slight mid-range misfire. .Wood lead the first laps until hit by the BMW of Shaw and then spent several laps diving with the rapid Mini of Nick Swift. The drying track later allowed Wood to pull away but the gap to Shaw was too great.
Cigars and Bunny Girls greeted the first three finishers, courtesy of UBS and the Playboy Club London respectively as well as silverware from Rolex at the Prizegiving ceremony.
