Grand Prix de Monaco Historique


The GP Historique is a highlight of the calendar in Monaco and Historic racing. Hosted by HSH Prince Albert and organised by the ACM, the event is held two weeks before the F1 Grand Prix and uses the same course.

Some of the best cars and drivers attend, coming from around the world to recreate the races of the period 1929-1979. Several original drivers participate, including Sir Stirling Moss.

The 7th edition will be held on the 1st-2nd of May, 2010.

James Wood has raced cars successfully since 1990 and has driven over one hundred types of car on over sixty circuits worldwide, including Monaco where he has raced both historic F1 and sports cars.

James is respected on and off the circuit and knows many people involved including drivers, owners, organisers, sponsors hence being asked by some to host their guests.

       
 
 

James hopes to compete in 2010. One car he might drive is from the 1970s, when Hunt, Lauda, Stewart and Petersen battled; cars include McLaren, Lotus, Surtees and Ferrari and Tyrrell.

Other potential entries include a 1960s Grand Prix car, the era of Jim Clark and Jack Brabham, and one from the '50s when Stirling Moss faced Fangio, Collins and Hawthorn. Maserati, Cooper and BRM.

 

James Wood has driven over 100 different models of car on over 60 circuits worldwide.
