James Wood coaches people of all levels of experience and ability, whether to improve racing technique, increase enjoyment of trackdays or make road driving safer.
Driver development is hugely important in motorsport. Teams and engineers work full-time on the design, build and development of the cars; drivers should equally seek to improve.
Tennis players, golf players and athletes train with coaches regularly whether they are professional or amateur; far fewer people who race do the same.
James Wood started coaching by demand; some experienced competitors who respected his driving wanted to improve their own and asked for advice. Others quickly followed.
Benefits:
- optimise a driver's ability so improve performance and results
- help a driver adapt to a particular car or type of car
- reduce wear on cars
- increase enjoyment
Driver development is proven to be the most cost-effective method of improving performance; for many people it saves by reducing their lap time without the cost of car development. It should increase a driver's enjoyment too.
